I am finishing my first year of high school (9th grade) and interested in the New York Stock Exchange. It seems intense, exciting, risky, fast-paced, and a career that I would enjoy and not become bored in. However, the economy is not doing hot right now and I do not know when it will start getting any better. But i mean some of the stocks right now are now suffering and are climbing, although it’s mostly up and down for all of them. Just wanted some advice before I start picking my classes for next year such as business economics, types of math classes etc..

By the time you will be ready for Wall Street in 4 to 8 years, the economy will be in a different place. Business and math courses will help in other business careers, too. (You have to be good at sales to be a broker.)
Start your own portfolio on paper. (Well, on a spreadsheet.) Start with an imaginary $10,000.00 in each of say 3 accounts, and choose some investments. (Stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, whatever.) Have a different theme for each. Maybe one buy-and-hold portfolio, one frequent trading, one keep a certain % in cash, bonds, stocks, international. See if your school takes part in business plan/portfolio competitions.
Save your money and invest on your own. Try Sharebuilder, they let you buy fractional shares.
